The comprehensive Safety @ 360°℠ initiative features the following:

Side Roll Protection System
The Side Roll Protection System is available exclusively on the Oshkosh® S-Series™ forward placement mixer truck. Developed together with LifeGuard Technologies, a leader in commercial truck occupant protection, the system uses a roll sensor to detect a rollover by monitoring the vehicle’s roll angle and rate, and then triggers safety devices in a pre-programmed sequence.
           
Trimble DriveSafe™ System
 Encouraging drivers to follow safe procedures on the road, an available DriveSafe system automatically records speed on turns, starts and stops, in relation to the vehicle’s load status. GPS positioning monitors average road speeds, and scores are assigned for each maneuver so driver behavior can be compared to the fleet average.  With this advanced training system on board, you can expect improved safety and significantly lower operating costs.

The Eagle Eye™ Obstacle Detection System
The Eagle Eye Obstacle Detection System alerts drivers to objects hidden in vehicle blind spots up to 20 feet away.  So turning, backing and lane-changing are less risky and potential collisions (and their costs) are easier to avoid. The system features a series of sensors mounted around the mixer truck and a driver alert module inside the cab.  The Eagle Eye system provides visual and audible warnings of potentially hidden obstacles.

Composite, Non-pressurized water tank
Using a water tank made of proven corrosion-resistant composite material not only adds to the over-all safety of our vehicles but subtracts a hefty 240 pounds of weight for more economical operation.  It’s more powerful than conventional units, too, with plenty of hose pressure for fast and effective cleanup.
