Electronically controlled engines, transmissions and other systems are common in today's military fleets. To give maintenance crews the latest high-tech tools to keep these vehicles ready, Oshkosh has developed Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) for many of its models including the HEMTT, PLS, HET and MTVR.

IETMs put the contents of several volumes of printed manuals into an interactive software program and include a searchable parts database. They look and act just like web documents, with digital photos, digital movies and audio clips to help explain tasks.

Most importantly, IETMs save mechanics time. They read diagnostic data directly from vehicle sensors and then automatically take the user through the appropriate tests and diagnostics, rather than forcing them to look through hundreds of pages for the right information. Plus, these manuals are an excellent training tool to bring new mechanics up to speed on the latest developments in equipment.
